The end of a relationship doesn't have to mean the end of vacationing together — and certain celebrities have proven exactly that.

For some of Hollywood's biggest stars, breakups are the start of a whole new lifestyle. Instead of enjoying solo getaways, some exes continue to come together as friends or even co-parents throughout the year.

From Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, the pioneers of the friendly split known as "consciously uncoupling," to Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, who embody #squadgoal vibes as the textbook definition of a blended family, it's a beautiful thing to see famous former couples prove that post-breakup life doesn't have to be all that complicated. In fact, it can be relaxing.

Check out some of the friendliest celebrity exes who didn't let their separation keep them from stamping their passports together for family vacations.

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk didn't let their split in 2019 after four years of dating keep them from enjoying vacations together with their daughter, Lea De Seine.

They went on a tropical family getaway in August 2022 and, a year later, enjoyed a relaxing beach day together.

The exes even took Lea on an end-of-summer trip to Italy.

"The Italy trip with her daughter is fun for everyone," an insider told PEOPLE at the time of their trip abroad in 2023. "Lea wants them all to travel together. And Irina and Bradley are friendly and get along. They both want to make Lea happy."

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky announced in July 2023 that they were separating after 27 years of marriage. However, they didn't let their split spoil their summer plans.

The pair enjoyed a luxurious vacation in Italy the following month with Richard's four daughters, Farrah, Alexia, Sophia and Portia, tagging along for the fun. Alexia's then-boyfriend (now-husband), Jake Zingerman, also joined the group.

The real estate mogul posted a photo on Instagram of everyone all glammed up on a yacht, writing, "Summer Vacay 2023 on point."

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, meanwhile, shared a snapshot on Instagram of her and her four daughters enjoying a scenic boat ride in the waters around Capri, writing, "That's amore."

At the time of Umansky and Richards' separation, a source told PEOPLE that the two remained on friendly terms and were figuring out a way forward with their family as their focus.

"Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof," the source said. "They remain amicable as they figure out what's next for them and their family."

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin

As far as celebrity splits go, Paltrow and Martin's was a memorable one. The pair — who share two children — popularized the term "conscious uncoupling" when announcing their separation in March 2014. (Their divorce was finalized in July 2016.)

Years later, when Paltrow married TV producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, the newlyweds embarked on their honeymoon with a special guest: Martin!

"We just took our honeymoon in the Maldives, and we had a big family honeymoon over Christmas," the Goop founder revealed while appearing on Live with Kelly and Ryan in January 2019.

"So, my new husband and his children, my children, my ex-husband, our best family friends [all went]. It was a very modern honeymoon," she continued, adding, "We had such a good time."

Paltrow said that, while the choice to have the Coldplay frontman join her honeymoon may be inexplicable to some, it's important to the pair that their children see them getting along and remaining on friendly terms.

"[We] just wanted to minimize the pain for the kids," the actress said. "And they just want to see their parents around the dinner table, basically, so we just try to keep that."

Kate Hudson has one big, happy, blended family. The Almost Famous actress shares older son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson, second son Bingham with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy and daughter Rani Rose with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa.

In June 2015 — the first summer after they called off their engagement — Bellamy joined Hudson, Ryder, Bingham and Hudson's mother, actress Goldie Hawn, on a family vacation to the Greek island of Skiathos.

The friendly exes were spotted paddling in a kayak with Bingham, and Bellamy was seen playing photographer for Hudson and Hawn.

"They blend in with other families and honeymooners," a source told PEOPLE at the time. "They are very focused on the kids and making it fun for them."

Moore and Willis went their separate ways in June 1998 after more than a decade of marriage and having welcomed three children together, but they have remained incredibly close.

The friendly exes have shown up to support each other's various work projects at events and red carpets over the years, shared holiday and birthday celebrations and even vacationed together regularly.

"We're very close. We have three children whom we will continue to raise together, and we're probably as close now as we ever were," the Die Hard star told Rolling Stone in December 2000 of his relationship with the Ghost actress. "We realize we have a lifelong commitment to our kids. Our friendship continues. The institution has been set aside."

Making family time, including vacations, a top priority after their breakup was something their children appreciated. Their eldest child, daughter Rumer, told Larry King in a 2015 interview (per ABC News), "I never had to split up vacations or split up birthdays. They always made an effort to do all of the family events still together and made such an effort to still have our family be as one unit, as opposed to two separate things, which I think really made an impact."

The former couple even chose to quarantine together at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, with Moore sharing a photo of her and Willis self-isolating together in matching pajamas at their nearby homes in Idaho. In addition to their shared daughters, they were joined by Willis' current wife, Emma Heming Willis, and their two young daughters.

"Family bonding," Moore captioned the snapshot.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick may have called it quits in October 2015, but Disick has remained firmly in the Kardashian-Jenner inner circle.

The former couple, who share three children, remain close, and Disick also has tight friendships with Kourtney's family.

Kourtney and Disick took their crew on a pre-Christmas getaway to Cabo, Mexico, in December 2018. At the time, a fan declared the family vacation an example of "co-parenting done right," prompting Khloé Kardashian to give her seal of approval.

"Beyond proud of all of them!!!! This is LOVE!! Your children before anything else!! All amazing adults right right!!!" Khloé posted on X (formerly Twitter) in response.

In April 2019, the exes took their kids on a spring break trip to Finland together. According to a source, the group witnessed the spectacular northern lights, played in the snow and enjoyed a snowmobile "safari."

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner took their children on a vacation to the Bahamas together right after announcing they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage in July 2015.

The trip was an opportunity for the family of five to spend time together at a difficult and painful moment, a source told PEOPLE.

"The family felt it was important to be together, and they were together. The family is united and, no matter what, will protect the kids," the insider said.

In February 2020, Affleck opened up to PEOPLE about his respect for Garner and their co-parenting relationship, saying, "When you have children with somebody, you're connected to them forever. And I'm very lucky she is the mother of my children."

"I'm very grateful and respectful of her," The Rip actor added. "Our marriage didn't work, and that's difficult. Both of us really believe that it's important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they're together or not."

Garner has also praised Affleck over the years, paying tribute to him on Father's Day 2025.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom didn't let their split get in the way of their vacation plans in the summer of 2025.

After officially confirming the end of their engagement on July 3, the former couple was spotted together on a yacht off Italy's Amalfi Coast on July 6 alongside their daughter, Daisy Dove, Bloom's son, Flynn, and newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez.

Perry and Bloom had first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in January 2016 and began dating. After taking a break early on in their relationship in February 2017, they reunited in 2018 and got engaged in February 2019.

The joint statement on behalf of the "Firework" singer and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor stated that they were "focus[ing] on co-parenting" and that "they will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect."
