While Love Island USA stars Bryce and Trinity have won over the hearts of viewers this season, one astrologist has weighed in on whether or not their love is written in the stars.

During Love Island USA Season 8, romances have come and gone, but one has only grown deeper with time: Bryce Alakai Dettloff and Trinity Celeste Tatum. And as the Peacock reality dating series is swiftly coming to a close, many fans predict that the two will be crowned this year's winners as they've already closed off and become boyfriend and girlfriend.

And while the two appear to be head over heels for one another, one expert has revealed whether or not they are astrologically compatible. This comes as fans say the latest lackluster episode of Love Island USA "could have been an email" as they impatiently await the Season 8 finale, which airs on Sunday, July 12.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror US, astrologer and host of StarCast Weekly on Gaia, Richard James shared his insight into Bryce and Trinity's compatibility and broke down the deeper meaning of each of their birth charts.

After reviewing their birth times, Richard determined that Trinity has a Libra Sun, Gemini Moon, Mercury in Libra, Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Pisces, Saturn in Cancer, the North Node in Taurus, and the South Node in Scorpio. As for Bryce, he is a Cancer Sun, Moon in Sagittarius, Mercury in Gemini, Venus RX in Gemini, Mars in Gemini, Saturn in Aries, North Node in Libra, and South Node in Aries.

Bryce and Trinity have been coupled up on the show since day one

When asked if the pair is astrologically compatible, Richard explained, "I think there's an important distinction between chemistry and compatibility, and that's exactly what stood out to me when I looked at their charts. Do I see chemistry? Absolutely. There are several placements that can create attraction, curiosity, and a genuine pull toward one another. But chemistry doesn't automatically translate to long-term compatibility."

He continued, "One of the first things I noticed was a beautiful Grand Water Trine in their charts. This is thanks to Bryce's Sun in Cancer and Trinity's Mars in Pisces/Venus in Scorpio. In astrology, that's often associated with emotional chemistry, natural affection, and the feeling that two people just 'get' each other. I absolutely believe that's part of what viewers have been watching unfold this season."

Trinity is a Libra Sun and Bryce is a Cancer Sun

Richard went on to explain that sometimes romantic connections enter our lives to teach us something, and aren't necessarily meant to last forever.

He said, "When I look at Bryce and Trinity's charts, I see two people who can absolutely spark something within each other, but I also see very different emotional needs and relationship styles that would require a tremendous amount of conscious work to sustain over time."

Richard then observed that they seemed to have very different personalities and could be pursuing different goals in life and love. And while they appear to share chemistry and attraction, they might not be the perfect match for a long-term relationship.

The astrologist believes that the pair are not destined to work out long term

The astrologist said, "When I compare their charts, one of the biggest questions I find myself asking isn't whether they're attracted to one another, let’s be honest, that part is obvious. It’s really whether they're asking the relationship to satisfy the same emotional needs… or not. That doesn't mean one person is right and the other is wrong. It simply means they may be asking the relationship to fulfill two very different needs."

Looking into what life could look like for the pair later this year, Richard said, "Can I just add that in October-November of 2026, Venus will be going retrograde in the sign of…Scorpio! With Venus preparing to retrograde through Scorpio, Trinity's natal Venus and South Node, I wouldn't be surprised if relationships OVERALL become a catalyst for major transformation and reflection."

He continued, "Sometimes the universe doesn't ask, 'Who are you going to end up with?' It asks, 'What are you finally ready to learn about love?' I really feel like this is a beautiful growing opportunity for both of them, but not a forever thing!"

The pairs' signs typically have different emotional needs in a relationship

And while Bryce and Trinity might not be destined to a lifetime of love together, Richard does believe that it is possible to find "the one" through reality television.

He said, "I don't believe the Universe cares where two people meet. Whether it's through a dating app, a coffee shop, mutual friends, or a reality television show, what matters is whether the relationship helps both people grow. I've heard countless beautiful stories about how couples met, and some of the happiest relationships began in the most unexpected places, including reality television."

Richard continued, "Reality TV may accelerate the process because emotions are heightened, and people are constantly pushed outside their comfort zones, but that doesn't make the connection any less authentic. One thing I always say is that some of the most meaningful relationships begin in the most unexpected places."
