Brothers Zac and Dylan Efron shared shirtless photos from a boat outing, drawing attention from fans and celebrities online

Brothers Zac and Dylan Efron know how to command attention.
“taking it easy ☀️,” the Dancing with the Stars alum, 34, captioned an Instagram carousel of himself spending time with the Iron Claw star, 38, on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The candid cover photo showed the siblings smiling as they looked off into the distance while riding on the back of a boat in swim trunks. Their toned abs were on full display and received plenty of attention from fans on social media.
“First pic is what you see when heaven’s gates open,” one person said. Another wrote, “my type is efron.”
One simply added, “thank you.”
Even Taylor Lautner got in on the fun, with the 34-year-old Twilight star playfully commenting, “My aunt tammy is on this app chill.”
Other photos in the carousel showed Dylan and friends doing outdoor activities like golf and wakeboarding. Dylan also included a selfie from his bed, snuggling up next to a dog on a sunny day.
The brothers may be close today, but that wasn’t always the case.
In a 2021 interview with BroBible, Dylan said that he and Zac “were always fighting with each other” when they were kids. He added that they “grew up super combative” and were “so different” due to their age gap before things finally started to change between them.

“[T]hen once I graduated college, Zac really took me under his wing and let me live with him when I got my first job in Los Angeles,” Dylan said. “He really became that older brother, and that’s when I would say we grew closer than ever. Our relationship was something that developed more as we both became adults and stopped fighting so much.”
When Zac starred in 2023’s The Iron Claw, he looked to Dylan for inspiration. The film centers on the Von Erich wrestling family, with Zac playing Kevin Von Erich, Fritz Von Erich’s second-eldest son.

“I’m a big brother myself, I love him to death, there’s a certain kind of relationship — it’s just a brother bond,” Zac told Entertainment Tonight at the time when asked about how his own brotherhood with Dylan shaped his role in the film.
As their sibling bond has grown, they’re often seen on social media together doing various athletic activities, like shirtless golf.

“I didn’t have social media until I was probably 25, 26. I was very private,” Dylan told PEOPLE in February 2025 about his tendencies to be more introverted while growing up alongside Zac.
“And then every year, growing more and more confident, posting more on social and realizing that my life being posted on social media has led to reality [shows] being an option because I’m playing myself online,” he said.
Zac and Dylan have two younger siblings, sister Olivia and brother Henry.
