CM Punk is preparing for a very different kind of fight after WWE RAW on Sept. 14. Netflix has announced that the Undisputed WWE Champion will appear on Hot Ones: Extra Heat, putting him across from Sean Evans and the show’s notorious Wings of Death.

The special will debut directly after the live episode of RAW at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET. Netflix made the announcement on Sept. 9, confirming that Punk will take on the full 10-wing challenge.

“CM Punk will go head-to-head with the wings of death in a new episode Hot Ones: Extra Heat!” Netflix announced.

Evans will host the 30-minute special, which brings the familiar Hot Ones interview format into major cultural moments outside the usual studio setting. This episode gives fans a chance to see Punk handle pressure in a setting where the microphone may be easier than the hot sauce.

CM Punk takes on Hot Ones Wings of Death after WWE RAW

The timing comes during a busy stretch for Punk. He is scheduled to defend the WWE Championship against Sami Zayn on the Sept. 11 episode of SmackDown before heading into the Hot Ones: Extra Heat challenge three days later.

Punk has already appeared on the Hot Ones franchise, joining his wife AJ Lee on Hot Ones Versus in January. However, this marks his first time taking on the complete Wings of Death lineup.

Hot Ones: Extra Heat debuted in July with Will Ferrell, Jimmy Tatro and Fortune Feimster. Punk’s appearance will be the second episode of the spinoff.

Netflix also released a video featuring Punk and Evans ahead of the special, adding a preview of the unusual matchup.

For a wrestler accustomed to surviving title matches and heated confrontations, this challenge comes with a different kind of stipulation. There’s no championship on the line — just 10 wings, increasingly hot sauces, and one question that may matter most: can Punk make it to the final bite without tapping out?
