Dancing With the Stars ensemble dancer Diego Pasillas fell during Monday’s live broadcast.
The dancer was part of the ensemble dancing to a Disney-themed medley at the show’s opening.
“You guys, I just ate it on national television,” Pasillas said in an Instagram video about the incident.
A Dancing With the Stars ensemble dancer just gave new meaning to the idea of hitting the ballroom floor.
“You guys, I just ate it on national television,” dancer Diego Pasillas said in an Instagram video (below) early Tuesday, in which he reacted to a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment from Monday’s live telecast that saw him slip to the ground during the episode’s Disney-themed opening number.
As Pasillas and the show’s lively company of ensemble dancers pushed forward during a number inspired by Disney’s 1992 Broadway production of Newsies, the center-frame dancer slid downward and landed on his behind. He gracefully recovered in the moment, lifting his leg into the air to make the move seem intentional without missing a beat.

During his social media video, Pasillas laughed it off as he demonstrated what the move was intended to look like if he’d pulled it off properly.
“This is what I was supposed to do,” Pasillas said, before leaping into the air and spinning around, landing on his feet.
Still, he added, “The show must go on,” and continued laughing about the accidental spill.
Pasillas’ fellow dancers chuckled about the moment in the room with him, while he doubled down on his prior sentiment in the post’s caption, writing, “LOLLLL the show must go on.”
The star also received supportive comments under the clip he shared, including from DWTS pro Val Chmerkovskiy and RuPaul’s Drag Race icon Cynthia Lee Fontaine.

“Bro you shablammed it and then shamblammed it in the air,” Chmerkovskiy wrote.
“Listen you did amazing!” Cynthia wrote. “If I tell you how many times I fall on stage when I use to dance in drag you will be impress ! So congratulations great job.”
Another commenter encouraged Pasillas to embrace the moment, and praised him for his quick-thinking recovery skills during the performance.
“Every dance teacher is going to play this clip from here on out to teach their dancers what owning their mistakes and good recovery techniques can do for a performer. truly a masterclass,” the user replied, with another quipping, “That was NOT a mistake. It was an ‘unexpected solo.’”

Pasillas joined the show’s ensemble to perform a medley of Disney hits at the top of the live show, which also featured vocals from Broadway’s Lion King alum (and Sweet Magnolias actress) Heather Headley.
DWTS’ Disney Night saw star contestants dance to a number of songs from Disney films and various stage adaptations, from Jenna Dewan’s take on Beauty and the Beast to Julia Stiles’ Hamilton -influenced set — though the latter was ultimately eliminated at the end of Monday’s show.
