Pro football Hall of Famer Edgerrin James took to Instagram to update sports fans and industry professionals on the state of his son, college basketball star Jizzle James.
James' Instagram story informed followers that his son is currently dealing with substance abuse, and cautioned them not to give him money or anything he could sell for drug money. Jizzle was recently dropped from the Charlotte 49ers roster after transferring from the Cincinnati Bearcats, according to CBS Sports.
"Jizzle is dealing with substance abuse and is not in the right state of mind right now," the NFL legend wrote. "If you see him, show him love, but do not give him money, valuables or anything material."
Prior to last season, James was dismissed from the Cincinnati program, where he made his debut in the 2023-2024 season, over personal issues, the outlet noted.

By December of that season however, Jizzle was back on the roster and played almost two dozen games with the Bearcats.
NFL running back legend Edgerrin James played for three teams over the course of a career that comprised a short stint with the Seattle Seahawks and longer runs with the Indianapolis Colts and the Arizona Cardinals.
He formally retired from the NFL in 2011. (RELATED: Former NFL Players Dae'Quan Wright, Zxavian Harris Allowed To Play College Football At LSU, Judge Rules)
"Give him a hug. Give him encouragement. Give him love. That's it. Be patient with him. We're fighting for him, not against him," the ex-NFL star implored his followers.
