The prolific character actor is moving from one Taylor Sheridan show to another, as the *Lioness* star has signed on for a series regular role on the upcoming third season of *Landman*.

Kelly will join the Billy Bob Thornton-led oil drama as William Crockett, the leader of the largest oil management firm in the world. A titan of industry, everything about Crockett exudes efficiency and money.

Season 2 of *Landman* concluded with Cami (Demi Moore) firing Tommy (Thornton) from M-Tex, only for him to start his own company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle.

Kelly is known as the go-to actor for government or spy roles, considering his memorable roles on *House of Cards*, *Jack Ryan*, and now on *Lioness*, in which he plays Byron Westfield, the CIA’s deputy director of operations. *Lioness* star Zoe Saldaña previously told ** that it’s an “honor” to work with Kelly and she has “learned so much” from him.

When he makes the jump to *Landman*, Kelly will be surrounded by familiar figures. Sheridan is the creator and writer of both series, and James Jordan is already a regular on *Lioness* and *Landman*.

*Lioness* is currently airing on Paramount+, and season 3 is reaching the homestretch as Westfield, Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman), and their teams hunt for Joe (Saldaña), who was abducted from outside her home and is being tortured by foreign forces.

“There’s a lot of chaos and urgency,” *Lioness* star Thad Luckinbill recently teased of the final episodes. “So we’re sprinting to the finish here. I don’t wanna say too much because the way it ends is very interesting, and I think the fans will flip out for it. Anybody could go, up and down the cast. That’s the stakes of the job, especially the operatives that are out there in the field. So our characters are all in high danger.”
