Jason Kelce shares an update on his weight loss journey

The former Philadelphia Eagles star has been open about his desire to shed pounds since retiring from the NFL in March 2024

ā€œI don’t know if it’s the moment you retire mentally, your body retires too,ā€ he said in May 2025

Jason Kelce claims losing weight has also caused him to lose some of his supporters.

The 38-year-old retired Philadelphia Eagles center spoke candidly about the public’s perception of his post-NFL physique during the Wednesday, May 13 episode of the New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his younger brother, Travis Kelce.

Before his admission, Jason read a fan question that asked, ā€œIf you had to live in one Disney movie forever, which would you choose and why?ā€

ā€œDamn, that’s a good f--king question,ā€ Travis, 36, said as the siblings pondered.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who is engaged to Taylor Swift, named Heavyweights as his first option.

Ben Stiller, Judd Apatow, and Kenan Thompson star in the 1995 family comedy, which follows a young boy named Gerry (Aaron Schwartz) get sent to a summer camp for kids who need to shed some pounds.

ā€œAll the fat kids when we were growing up, they ended up being the funniest, most enjoyable to be around,ā€ Travis said as they chatted about the film.

ā€œIt's true,ā€ Jason added. ā€œFat people are just better.ā€ Travis told his brother he ā€œdidn’t get goodā€ until he ā€œgot fat.ā€

ā€œI didn't,ā€ Jason agreed as Travis laughed. ā€œYeah. Nobody liked me until I became fat. And as I get skinnier, people hate me more and more.ā€

Wednesday’s podcast episode isn’t the first time the father of four has spoken on the subject. Shortly after retiring from 13 years in the league in March 2024, he used New Heights to share his goal weight after reaching nearly 300 pounds at one point in his life.

ā€œI look forward to getting skinny,ā€ he said during an episode of their podcast that same month. ā€œI’m gonna slim down. My goal is 250 lbs. This last week I got down to like 285 because I knew I was doing this and then I had cake like three days in a row."

ā€œThere’s different ways to do this," he continued. "I personally don’t subscribe to doing extreme diets like going all the way vegan or all the way carnivore or keto. F--- no I’m not doing that."
