Jensen Ackles' character returns in an exclusive preview clip from the penultimate episode of season 3.

The footage shows Russell tell his brother Colter (Justin Hartley) that he knows the location of Dr. Jukic, a researcher who worked with their late dad at the mysterious Chronostasis Institute.

Entertainment Weekly is unveiling an exclusive preview clip from the penultimate episode of Tracker season 3 (airing May 17), which sees Jensen Ackles' Russell reunite with his brother Colter (Justin Hartley) to hunt for more clues surrounding a complicated family mystery.

Colter has searched for information surrounding the events leading up to their father's death and his involvement in a mysterious organization called the Chronostasis Institute across multiple seasons of the CBS thriller. The clues have led him to a researcher named Dr. Jukic — the very same person that Russell reveals he's managed to track down in the clip above.

"The details line up, she changed her name, went offline, probably for good reason," he explains. "She was working for Dad on that chronostasis project in Alaska. I did get some intel on what they were trying to do, but most of it was redacted."

Colter admits that the project involved some "pretty out-there stuff," before telling Russell that he needs to speak with her as soon as possible.

And, honestly, Russell is happy to hit the road in his rock-music-blasting black convertible and find the answers Colter's looking for… riiiiiight after they make a quick pit stop at their childhood home in Echo Ridge.

"Might be the last time we see the house, I need to pick up a few things," Russell says. "Mom's selling the place."

The news takes Colter by surprise. "I didn't know that," he confesses. To which Russell pointedly replies, "That's because you two don't talk."

Colter acknowledges that he should speak with their mom, Mary (Wendy Crewson), and "hear her side" of the story when it comes to their father's death.

"It'd be good to clear the air, you know?" Russell says. "We did."

"Look at us now," Colter responds as the two clink beer bottles. "That's right," Russell agrees.
