- Jimmy Kimmel returned to *Jimmy Kimmel Live *on Sept. 8 with a monologue recapping his break.

- The TV host compared his vacation to President Donald Trump’s summer months.

- Kimmel also took a shot at the White House, reflecting on his suspension from earlier this year.

According to Jimmy Kimmel, he and president Donald Trump had a similar summer vacation.

“Donald Trump and I have one thing in common,” Kimmel said in his monologue during Tuesday’s episode of *Jimmy Kimmel Live**,* marking the host’s first show back following a months-long break. “We both accomplished nothing all summer long.”

Kimmel noted that “the country was a mess” when he started his summer break in June.

“We were at war with Iran at that time. Gas prices were high at that time. Inflation was high. Mitch McConnell was either alive or dead — nobody seemed to have any idea which. No one still seems to,” he quipped. “I guess they don’t even care anymore because they’ve seemed to have just stopped trying to find out.”

Kimmel continued, “The Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool was a big green slop hole. And, now, only 3 months later, I am so pleased to report that thanks to your favorite president, DJ Jazzy Donald, every one of those problems has been solved. We made America great again.”

The crowd booed as Kimmel wondered why they weren’t “standing up and clapping” for Trump.

“Wait, are you telling me the president of the United States had three full months and spent $20 million and couldn’t even get a pool cleaned?” Kimmel continued. “Is it possible he’s been pumping in Diet Coke because I thought he was supposed to drain the swamp? He turned it into gravy instead. How are we supposed to win the war with Iran when we can’t even win the war against algae?”

Kimmel’s return to his eponymous show came hours after a report claiming *Jimmy Kimmel Live *will end next year after season 24. ABC has since denied the report, calling it “inaccurate” in a statement to **.

As he continued, Kimmel dove into Trump’s poll numbers, noting that “only one out of three registered voters approve of his job performance right now.”

The ABC personality also pointed out Trump’s new hair, showing a recent photo of the president with what appears to be a darker hair color.

“I don’t know if you saw this, but the leaves are changing colors and so is the president’s head,” Kimmel joked. “Is it possible to have a midlife crisis at 80 years old? It’s like he’s aging in reverse.”

Tuesday’s show also marked Kimmel’s 4,000th episode of *Jimmy Kimmel Live,* which allowed the TV host to take a shot at the White House as a whole.

“We’ve done 4,000 of these, which is, it’s a lot of shows,” Kimmel said, bringing up his brief suspension from earlier this year following comments about the late Charlie Kirk. “According to the White House, it’s too many shows.”
