Jon Gosselin Says He ‘Wouldn’t Be Able to Pick’ Out Daughters Mady and Cara If He Saw Them on the Street

Jon Gosselin claimed in a recent podcast that he wouldn’t be able to “pick” out his twin daughters Madelyn “Mady” and Cara Gosselin if he saw them on the street

He shared that he has been estranged from the twins since they were 13 and knows little about their current lives

The celebrity DJ also noted that he does not “blame” his kids for the estrangement

Jon Gosselin says he doesn’t know his twin daughters Madelyn “Mady” and Cara Gosselin.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, 49, said on the Nov. 3 episode of the Legally Goff podcast that he has been out of his daughters’ lives for so long that he wouldn’t recognize them if he happened to run into them on the street.

“I haven’t seen Mady and Cara in like forever,” Jon revealed. “Yeah, I wouldn’t be able to pick them out in the street. I have pictures of them, but I still wouldn’t be able to pick them out on the street. That’s how much I haven’t seen them.”

“I missed graduations. I missed proms. I was alienated from all that stuff,” he continued. “I don’t know anything about my twins, if they have boyfriends or girlfriends, or what favorite color they have now, if they drive a car. I know nothing.”

Jon shares twins Mady and Cara — the eldest of the Gosselin siblings — with ex-wife Kate Gosselin, 51, whom he divorced in December 2009. He also shares sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel with her.

The celebrity DJ claimed he has been “alienated” from Mady and Cara’s lives since they were 13-years-old and has heard “silence” from them both ever since.

“I’ve never heard their voice, like one day I was an all-active everyday parent and it’s upsetting I know and people are going to hate hearing this, but you know I was just cut out of their lives,” he said.

Jon also said that he believed that his ex and TLC, the network which aired their show, have played a role in his estrangement from his eldest daughters.

“They, I guess, believe the narrative of TLC that I’m a s–tbag and that I don’t want to see them and just like Kate told Colin, ‘I don’t want to see him…’ And I believe that’s exactly what she said to Mady and Cara and that’s their mother and they believed her and that was it.”

“The same thing with the other four. They just said, you know, they live in fear, and I don’t blame them. And I don’t blame them now,” he added.

He also lamented the estrangement of his son Collin from the rest of his siblings. Collin previously shared in a TikTok Live in August 2025 that he doesn’t “talk” to his siblings, though he very much wishes “that we did and that they knew who I actually was because we don’t know each other at all.”

“[Collin] called once from the institution [and] talked to Mady and got hung up on and never talked to them again. That’s some scary s–t,” Jon said. “I talk to my brother three times a day and my older brother maybe twice a week. I talk to my mom, I call her at like 8 a.m. every single day and if I miss, she calls me, like something happened.”

He continued, “So, and these are womb mates. These are kids that were in the womb together. And they just literally alienated and shunned my son. And have no explanation. It’s gut wrenching.”
