Katie Thurston revealed that she underwent chin liposuction amid her journey with breast cancer

Katie Thurston is revealing that she underwent chin liposuction.
The Bachelorette alum, 35, took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to share her decision to have the cosmetic procedure amid her journey with breast cancer.
“After so many required medical surgeries, I decided to do one for myself,” she wrote over a snap of herself surrounded by pillows with bandages wrapped around her face. “I’m all about transparency. Never had Botox. Never had filler. But today I did in fact have chin lipo.”
The next slide showed Thurston snuggling up with her dog, Charlie. “My healer,” she captioned the photo.
She then shared a text post that read, “I’ll answer all your questions when I can, but for now, I’m down for the count.”

A fourth slide showed a package of Ritz crackers and a nutritional drink along with the caption, “Breakfast at 6:40AM because I can’t open my mouth wider, swallowing sucks, I want to take pain meds but not on an empty stomach.”
Thurston announced her breast cancer diagnosis just months after getting engaged to comedian Jeff Arcuri. The couple tied the knot in an intimate backyard ceremony at their home on March 22, 2025. Thurston and Arcuri told Us Weekly that they decided to move up their wedding date because Thurston was beginning treatment for her stage 3 breast cancer, which has since developed to stage 4.

In April, Thurston underwent a double mastectomy. Then, in July 2026, she shared that she has to get a liver biopsy as doctors are “at a loss” as to why her enzymes are elevated amid her ongoing journey with cancer.

During an appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast Off the Vine on Tuesday, July 21, Arcuri, 38, revealed that he and Thurston have taken the next step in the in vitro fertilization (IVF) process. “We have embryos,” he shared. “Two embryos.”
He then explained why he and Thurston are waiting before continuing the process.
“We got a house that’s being renovated. It’s hit a lot of hiccups,” said Arcuri. “So our house was supposed to be renovated in maybe four months — that was our initial projection. Now it’s 18 months.”
During a previous appearance on the Off the Vine podcast, Thurston revealed her complex emotions about not being able to carry a child after her breast cancer diagnosis. At the time, she shared that her husband Arcuri had been helping her stay positive.
“We’ve had a lot of conversations about it, and there’s all these moments that I feel like we won’t get to have,” she said. “But, then he’s very sweet and reminds me we still can do that. We can still do a baby shower. We can still experience finding out the news.”
