Love on the Spectrum star Pari Kim's mom Esme died at 61

In a May 13 Instagram post, the 24-year-old reflected on her grief and said, "It's difficult to keep chugging along when your guardian locomotive reaches the end of the line"

Pari's dad died in 2020, and she said she "didn't expect to lose both of [her parents] so young"

Love on the Spectrum star Pari Kim is grieving the death of her mother Esme.

In a Wednesday, May 13 Instagram post, the Netflix reality star, 24, reflected on the challenges of "grief and tragedy" in the wake of her mom's death.

"It feels like everything is becoming a train wreck and that there are two sides of yourself constantly fighting: the sad, lonely girl missing what was cruelly and unfairly taken from her at such a young age and the girl who has to stay strong and positive because she can't give up if she wants to keep moving forward," Pari wrote.

"It's difficult to keep chugging along when your guardian locomotive reaches the end of the line," she continued. "But you have to keep going somehow, even without her."

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Pari added: "If you still have parents and they are loving and caring to you, please be grateful and know how lucky you are! Time is precious and I didn't expect to lose both of them so young!"

Pari's dad, Henry Kim, died in 2020 at 55, according to a local obituary. He "passed away suddenly" and was described as a "loving husband, father, brother and son."

The U.S. Sun reported that Pari's mom, Esme, had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She was 61.

Many of Pari's Love on the Spectrum costars shared their condolences in the comments section. "Soooooooo sorry to hear about the loss of your mom!! She fought very hard!! Your LOTS family is always here for you!!" Madison Marilla wrote.

"I am so sorry, Pari. I feel so bad and want to give you and Teal a big hug," Abbey Romeo wrote.

Pari joined Love on the Spectrum in season 3. She met Tina Zhu Xi Caruso on the show and the pair started a relationship, but they confirmed last month that they have gone their separate ways.

Pari described them as "two trains on different tracks" in a post on her Instagram Stories, and said she wishes her ex "the best and a bright, T-riffic future!"
