Josh Grisetti has died by suicide at the age of 44.

The actor was a beloved Broadway star who also appeared in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The tragic news was revealed by actor Rob McClure, who shared a heartfelt tribute to Grisetti on Instagram.

“It is with a shattered heart that I share that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his own life on Friday,” McClure began. “I’m not ready to even attempt to understand. My heart is with his wife and family as they try to deal with the reality of this. Some of my all-time favorite memories were by this man’s side, playing his brother onstage for years, watching him inspire students while transforming the Musical Theatre program at Cal State Fullerton …and having the honor of being the Best Man at his wedding," he continued. It comes after Linsey Graham died this weekend.

"Maggie and I are beyond heartbroken. Communities around the world will never be the same without him. We love you Josh. Just a cataclysmic loss. Memorial info to come in time," the actor concluded.

Grisetti appeared in the fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, portraying Ralph Emerson in eight episodes. He was also well-known on Broadway, appearing in It Shoulda Been You and Something Rotten! along with numerous other off-Broadway productions.

Along with his successful acting career, Grisetti was head of the Musical Theatre program at California State University, Fullerton, having previously served as a teacher at Fullerton College and Loyola Marymount University.

The tribute prompted many Broadway stars and actors to also pay their respects. Rachel Zegler commented a red love heart emoji, while Stephanie J Block-Arcelus penned, "What a kind and beautiful soul. I am so so sorry for this great loss. Sending you and all those who loved him comfort and strength."
