Cyrus announced the new album on Sept. 1, sharing a personal explanation for its title.
āMusic takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong,ā the star wrote on Instagram. āHeart full, heartache, every part of life in between. Thatās what the title means to me. Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album. ā¤ļø Miley.ā

The albumās title track is already making noise of its own, landing as the No. 1 most-added song at U.S. radio this week. Released Sept. 3 as the first single from the album, the ā80s-inspired dance-pop track finds Cyrus taking aim at a screen-filled world and encouraging listeners to put down their phones and get back on the dance floor.
The songās nostalgic streak includes references to being āgluedā to a phone and missing the days of discovering hits through MTV, while its accompanying music video, directed by longtime collaborator Mert Alas, turns the message into a full-on dance party.

The song is also off to a strong start on streaming platforms, debuting at No. 1 on Spotifyās U.S. Top Songs chart for Sept. 4ā6 and No. 2 globally during the same period. It also reached No. 1 on iTunes in the U.S.
The album announcement also marked a new chapter in how the singer is presenting herself. Sheās releasing the project under just her first name, Miley.
Her father, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, is fully on board with his daughterās new era.
After the āFlowersā singer announced the album, he shared a throwback photo of himself with his daughter and her younger brother, Braison, along with a message comparing her one-name era to legendary artists who have gone by a single name.
āI mentioned Dolly and Cher. Thinkin about it more and more ⦠Elvis .. Prince ā¦and so on,ā he wrote. āItās a natural progression for an iconic superstar legend. And the legend continues ! Looking forward to the new album.ā
The Hollywood Bowl shows will give Cyrus a chance to introduce her new era to fans in a venue she already holds close.
āItās been a while. The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists,ā she wrote on Instagram. āIāve sat in those seats many times, but Iāve never taken the stage. LA is my heart and Iām bringing it home. See you there. ā¤ļø Miley.ā
