Prince Harryhas seemingly been in touch with King Charles upon his return to the UK through phone calls. This tidbit of information has come to the forefront after King Charles issued a letter via the Lord Chamberlain, asserting that the Sussexes remain private citizens while they stay in the UK. While it was widely reported that the Duke of Sussex wasn’t in touch with his father, new reports have emerged which suggest otherwise.

Prince Harry has seemingly been in contact with King Charles through phone calls. This new information emerges after the king’s letter clarified that the Sussexes cannot carry out royal engagements or use royal titles.

Australian royal reporter Bronte Coy also revealed on The Morning Show that her sources have confirmed that the King and his younger son have indeed been in contact with each other. Coy said: “I can tell you, actually, just from this morning, I’ve heard. They haven’t met face to face yet. But my understanding is that they have spoken on the phone.”

The claim appears to contradict previous reports that Charles and Harry had not been in contact since the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK. Coy also said that settling Archie and Lilibet into their new school has been a major priority for Harry and Meghan as they adjust to life back in Britain. (via The Royal Observer).

Coy explained that the Sussexes are “laying pretty low” while they adjust to their new life in the UK. The couple has reportedly been considering a private, non-royal home in the Cotswolds while retaining their properties in Portugal and Montecito. PEOPLE previously reported that King Charles was aware of their plans and was open to spending time with his grandchildren in a private capacity.

Shortly after the King’s letter, Harry and Meghan’s representatives issued a statement stating that they “were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.” Harry and Meghan flew privately from California to Birmingham on August 26.
