Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly frustrated over how King Charles worded his letter
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have reportedly been frustrated by the wording of King Charles’s recent official letter, issued by the Lord Chamberlain. As reported by The Telegraph, the Sussexes received just an hour’s notice of the monarch’s letter, which clarified their status.
In the meantime, per the news outlet, the King’s letter confirmed that the Sussex couple remain “private citizens” after they moved back to the UK. It further reportedly clarified that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be able to use their “HRH” titles. The letter also explained that any charity work the Sussexes may undertake will not be on the royal family’s behalf.

Furthermore, the publication reported on King Charles’ letter, which frustrated the prince. The Palace had released it without consulting him.
According to the news outlet, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prefer the term “public figures.” They also allegedly sought an acknowledgment from the family. They wanted recognition that they remained part of the royal family on a personal level. This comes although the Sussex couple no longer receives public funding.
Meanwhile, per the publication, the palace addressed the letter. They said it was in complete accordance with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s stated wishes. The couple intended to remain private citizens during their time in the UK. “It is merely making clear the continued position for the benefit of all parties,” a source explained to the outlet.
