Prince William and Kate Middleton 'avoiding' the drama as Prince Harry returns to UK

As the heir to the throne, Prince William has consistently kept the monarchy's future at the forefront of all his decisions.

From his official duties to the initiatives he supports, the Prince of Wales has remained conscious throughout his life of the enormous responsibility resting on his shoulders.

He and his wife, Kate Middleton, have remained steadfast in providing their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - with as normal an upbringing as possible, with the pair acknowledging they regularly take part in relatable family activities together. It comes as William and Kate's son, Prince George, arrived for his first day at Eton.

Kate has taught her kids how to cook, and the family treasure moments spent in nature and out of the spotlight. William and Kate also made certain their children stayed their top priority as the Princess of Wales underwent her cancer treatment.

Now, with William's younger sibling Prince Harry having come back to the UK with his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be committed to avoiding any "drama."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shocked the country six years ago when they stepped back from their positions as senior working royals. In 2020, the pair moved to Montecito in California, aiming to achieve financial independence.

After stepping back from royal duties, the couple took part in multiple interviews, most memorably their conversation with Oprah Winfrey about their time as working royals. The duo also featured in their own Netflix series, while Harry published his memoir, Spare, which included various claims about the royal family.

However, Harry and Meghan have now decided to return to Britain, settling in a private, non-royal residence outside London, with their children expected to enroll in British schools.

Harry is believed to have made headway in rebuilding his relationship with his father, King Charles, during earlier visits to the UK, although the tense relationship between the two royal brothers is understood to remain as frosty as ever.

William and Charles are also said to be in "complete agreement" that Harry cannot assume a "half in, half out" position within the royal family and he will not be returning to his royal responsibilities.

Sources close to William and Kate have revealed that while they "cannot forgive" the Sussexes for their claims against the royal family during their time in America, they remain committed to "look forward to the future." Among the allegations Harry leveled against his brother in Spare was that the siblings engaged in a physical altercation concerning his relationship with Meghan.

Harry claimed William came to his previous home at Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace, after claims that Meghan had been "abrasive" and "difficult" towards royal household staff.

Harry asserted William seized him by the collar, threw him to the ground, which tore his necklace, and caused a dog bowl that Harry fell onto to crack beneath his back. William has never publicly responded to these allegations, though in his book William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, Mirror royal editor Russell Myers referenced an insider who characterized the assertions regarding the physical confrontation as "massively overblown."

Individuals close to the Prince of Wales insist that Harry's account of events - in which William confronted his younger brother over Meghan's purported treatment of palace staff - represented a "cheap shot."

A source cited in the book declared, "It was a cheap shot [from Harry] to present such an argument. Tensions were running very high, and yes, there certainly were cross words exchanged that on reflection were regrettable, but the prince [William] is adamant there was no physical violence."

Despite the deep divide between the two brothers, the book disclosed that William was "deeply saddened" by Harry's exit from the Royal Family. Kate, on the other hand, had reached the realization that she "could do no more to bring the brothers together" - though she had previously acted as a "voice of reason" during the deterioration of their relationship - and had viewed Harry's exit from both the Firm and the UK as "inevitable."
