Prince William has allegedly made his position clear regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to the UK, as King Charles firmly restated the Sussexes' official roles.

TalkTV host Mark Dolan recently joined News24, previously known as Sky News Australia, where he discussed the Prince of Wales' opposition to his brother amid their strained relationship.

Speaking with broadcaster Paul Murray, Mark said, "Well, the latest is, according to Vanity Fair and my good friend, Katie Nichols, William and Catherine feel completely derailed at this unexpected return of the Sussexes." It comes after the couple addressed King Charles' recent letter of clarification.

Discussing their return following six years in California, he asserted, "We know why they've come back to the United Kingdom. The Sussex brand has been a complete flop in the United States.

"Harry is sweating the small stuff over his visa because it hasn't yet been proven whether he was honest with the authorities about his alleged drug use when he filled out that visa application.

"Plus, the couple are going flat broke," Mark claimed. "Yes, they've got some savings, but it's going out the door very quickly, so they've come back to the UK in retreat.

"Clearly, King Charles is warm to some kind of reconciliation, to rebuild a relationship with the Sussexes, but William is not having it," he went on.

The presenter stated, "I'm hearing that William despises his brother; he's in no mood to reconcile, and Robert Jobson, who is another well-connected royal author, has said that William and Catherine are refusing to engage in what he calls the circus around Harry and Meghan.

"I think it's a problem for William and Catherine on one level because it doesn't matter how many hospital wings they open, the Sussexes are going to get the headlines, but I would argue those aren't going to be good headlines."

The King's correspondence, distributed to Prince Harry's team, Government departments, military officials and Lord Lieutenants, emphasized that they will continue to be prohibited from using "His and Her Royal Highness" titles, and will remain "private citizens".

Royal Historian Alexander Larman characterized the statement as a "brutal putdown" during his GB News appearance, suggesting the Sussexes might have anticipated preferential treatment throughout their prolonged visit.

He told Martin Daubney, "They've been put in their place here, but what's coming next? What are we going to see as the next development?"

The correspondence further specified that any engagements, including charitable activities undertaken by the Sussexes, will occur in a private capacity without representing the Royal Family.

Furthermore, the King's statement indicated that any inquiries from organizations regarding how the Sussexes should be received, "particularly where recourse to public funds may be required, should be directed to Buckingham Palace."
