Sarah Ferguson and Ex-Prince Andrew Still “Speak Regularly” and “Have Unity” in This Regard Amid Her U.K. Return

Despite the scandal that has engulfed them regarding their association with Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah Ferguson and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor still “speak regularly,” according to Ferguson’s spokesperson.

Ferguson left the U.K. for six months in February and spent time in Austria and Switzerland before returning to her home country in August.

“At the moment she is focused on the now and has no big plans at this stage other than health, family, and rebuilding her life in a new home,” a spokesperson told Hello!.

After six months of self-imposed exile from the U.K., Sarah Ferguson returned to her home country in August and is in the process of “rebuilding” her life there.

Ferguson is currently renting a six-bedroom property in the Home Counties, and a spokesperson told Hello! that “At the moment she is focused on the now and has no big plans at this stage other than health, family, and rebuilding her life in a new home.” Despite rumors that Ferguson is writing a tell-all memoir—which have been strongly denied—Ferguson is keeping busy “relocating and quietly sorting through 40 years of boxes.”

Perhaps more surprisingly, Ferguson and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—formerly known as Prince Andrew—are still in touch, according to Hello!, even amid scandal. “Sarah and Andrew speak regularly and have always had and continue to have unity as co-parents and co-grandparents,” Ferguson’s spokesperson told Hello!, though declined to answer when asked if Ferguson had met up with Andrew face-to-face since returning to the U.K.

Andrew and Ferguson had their respective Duke and Duchess of York titles stripped in October 2025. By the end of the month, King Charles had stripped his younger brother Andrew of all royal titles and privileges, rendering him a commoner.

Though they divorced in 1996, Andrew and Ferguson lived together at the 30-room mansion Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate up until this past February, when they were evicted amid scandal surrounding their association with Jeffrey Epstein. Ferguson left the U.K., spending time in Austria and Switzerland before returning in August. Andrew moved to the Sandringham estate, where he was arrested from his new home on February 19—his 66th birthday.

On October 29, Ferguson made her first public appearance in the U.K. in over a year, attending a memorial service for her ex-boyfriend Paddy McNally alongside her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and their respective husbands. Her appearance came just days after Ferguson turned 67 years old on October 15 after experiencing “one of the worst years of her life,” royal commentator Phil Dampier told Hello!.

“She’s lost her house, she’s lost her best friend, she’s a social outcast, and she’s not seeing as much of her children and grandchildren as she might,” he continued. “She’s still grieving for Paddy, who was her closest friend for 40 or 50 years. She certainly always went back to him when she needed financial help or a shoulder to cry on, and she always remained in contact with him.”

Dampier added that Beatrice and Eugenie “have both been to see her at her new house in the past couple of weeks. I don’t think they want to be seen with her in public at the moment, and she probably realizes it’s not a good idea either, but behind the scenes they are talking and trying to be supportive.” He admitted, though, “I don’t think the relationship is quite as close as it used to be, certainly.”

“I think the days of them being ‘the tripod’ and inseparable have been fragmented,” Dampier said. “They have grown up and gone their own ways a bit, and they’ve got their separate lives and separate families.”

For now, Ferguson “is embracing her family life and seeing her grandchildren,” a spokesperson told People, adding that Ferguson is “resettling here, lying low while she looks at the next stage.”

“She’s happy spending time with her family and focusing on her relocation,” the spokesperson added.
