Saturday Night Live will return for its 52nd season this fall.

The venerable NBC sketch show has named its first hosts and musical guests for the new season.

They include Jalen Brunson, Dakota Johnson, Shane Gillis, and Inde Navarrette.

The stage is set for Saturday Night Live’s 52nd season — and now we know a few of the big names stopping by Studio 8H.

NBC’s venerable sketch show has unveiled the first hosts and musical guests for the upcoming season, which will premiere Sept. 26.

New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson will lead the season 52 premiere, making his SNL hosting debut with musical guest Katseye, who are also making their debut. Brunson was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 NBA Finals, where the Knicks won their first championship in 53 years.

The following week, on Oct. 3, Dakota Johnson will return to Studio 8H after previously hosting twice. She’ll be promoting her new film Verity. Turnstile will join her as musical guest, making their SNL debut.

Comedian Shane Gillis is set to make his third appearance as a Saturday Night Live host, returning Oct. 10. His visit will come on the heels of him breaking two Guinness World Records with his sold-out comedy performance at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. His Netflix comedy show Tires also just got renewed for a fourth season.

Musical guest Rosalía, who also performed on the show twice before and just wrapped up a world tour, will join Gillis.

After a couple of weeks off, the Halloween episode (taking place on the holiday’s actual date) will be hosted by Inde Navarrette, marking her hosting debut. Navarratte is the breakout star of the horror film Obsessionand also has roles in the upcoming X-Men film and The Waffle House Index.

Gracie Abrams will return to the 8H stage as musical guest ahead of a tour in support of her latest album, Daughter From Hell.

Season 52 will feature at least two notable departures in Chloe Fineman and Martin Herlihy. Fineman announced in June that she was moving on after seven seasons, calling working at SNL “the greatest privilege of my life.”

Herlihy is leaving after five seasons; he joined SNL as part of the writing team and starred in pretaped Please Don’t Destroy sketches alongside Ben Marshall and John Higgins. (Higgins parted ways with SNL last year.)

Created by Lorne Michaels and launched in 1975, SNLcelebrated its semicentennial last year with a four-part docuseries, a three-hour concert, a star-studded red carpet, a three-hour live prime-time special, and more.

The show also got a British sibling, Saturday Night Live UK, which premiered in March.
