PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Seattle Seahawks are changing owners.
The Seahawks announced on Saturday afternoon that the Estate of Paul G. Allen has reached an agreement to sell the Pacific Northwest NFL team.
The new ownership group is led by the Khosla family, who will become the team’s controlling owner, the Seahawks said.
“We are honored to be entrusted as the next stewards of the Seattle Seahawks. We look forward to building on the winning legacy Paul Allen created and to earning the trust of the Seahawks organization and fans everywhere,” said Vinod Khosla, on behalf of the Khosla family, in a statement.

While the terms of the transaction were not immediately announced by the Seahawks, it was reportedly a $9.6 billion sale, a source told the .
The deal may take months to finalize pending NFL approval.
