Sting’s Son Steven Borden Scores Huge Win in AEW TV Debut on Dynamite

Pro wrestling legend Sting’s son, Steven Borden, finally made his televised in-ring debut on the September 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he teamed up with Darby Allin in a tag team match against Don Callis Family members Josh Alexander and Mark Davis.

The debut came with a lot of attention on Borden, who has naturally been linked to his legendary father since getting into pro wrestling. However, earlier in the episode, Borden made it clear that he wanted to build a legacy of his own.

The co-main event saw Borden and Allin take on Alexander and Davis, with Davis also making his return to the ring after spending six months on the sidelines due to injury.

The Don Callis Family controlled much of the early action. They isolated Allin and stopped him from making the tag. But Borden eventually got the chance to enter.

Once he got the hot tag, the Athens crowd immediately got behind him with “Steve” chants. Borden went right into the action and took Davis down and later managed to body slam both members of the opposing team. He also dropped Alexander with a Samoan drop.

He also showed off his athleticism when he hit Davis with a huge dropkick while Davis was in the corner.

But the Don Callis Family eventually found a way to slow down the debutant.

Alexander caught Borden with a rack bomb, putting him in serious danger of losing by pinfall. However, Allin broke the pin. Borden stayed in the fight and eventually found another gear as the match entered its closing stretch.

Alexander tried to keep the pressure on, but Borden and Allin worked together to turn things around. The two combined for an impressive Scorpion Death Drop and Coffin Drop combination on Alexander.

Allin then took Davis out of the equation with a wild tope suicida to the ringside, leaving Borden with a clear path to finish the match. The debutant took advantage by hitting Alexander with a Scorpion Coffin Drop and getting the three-count.

Borden could hardly have asked for a better introduction to AEW TV.
