Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce stepped out for dinner in New York City on Sunday, their first public appearance after the wedding.
The clip of their exit from the venue went viral when the two left in separate cars. Netizens were quick to note that the couple did not say goodbye to each other and that Kelce ‘hated’ her.
Netizens Speculate Trouble in Marriage
Swift and Kelce dined at the Ambassadors Clubhouse, a Northern Indian restaurant in Manhattan.
During the date, Swift looked stunning in a metallic silk halter Stella McCartney dress, paired with a bracelet and an opal ring. Kelce, on the other hand, wore a striped button-up shirt, Vans shoes, and brown pants.
Many critics called the situation odd and speculated about trouble in their marital relationship. The couple’s fans defended them, slamming critics for spreading rumors.
An X user asked in disbelief, “They went in separate cars?” A netizen shared her own experience: “I have been married 38 years together, 43. Even if we were going to go somewhere in separate cars…we would kiss goodbye.” A Swiftie fired back at her and asked, “Did you have paps around you?”

A critic took a dig at all the fans who were defending the couple: “Look at Swifties making excuses.” Another netizen called out the critics, “It’s very strange the way so many of you expect them to perform their relationship for you, and when they don’t, you get truly deranged and make up narratives, which is exactly why they don’t perform their relationship for you.”
Swift and Kelce were also seen at the wedding of former Chiefs teammate Juju Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk. Swift was dressed in a pink and golden Markarian gown, and Kelce was in a black suit.
Travis Kelce Wanted the Wedding to Last Longer
Swift and Travis started dating in July 2023 and got married the same month this year. Their wedding was a much-awaited event for the fans and had around a thousand guests in attendance at the Madison Square Garden venue.
In a recent podcast episode of New Heights with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis noted, “I wish it could’ve lasted even longer than it did. It felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye,” while calling the wedding magical. The no-phones rule helped people be more present at the event.
He added, “People don’t have to be on guard; without phones, they could enjoy and be relaxed. It’s only been two months since their big day, and Kelce can’t stop gushing about their wedding, putting a stop to anyone who speculated that their marriage is just a business deal.
He’s set to play his 14th NFL season starting on September 14.
