TWG Motorsports is not up for grabs, per The Athletic, despite the fact that TWG Global CEO Mark Walter is reportedly shopping his stake in Cadillac F1.

Created in 2024 after TWG Global acquired multiple motorsports teams, TWG Motorsports holds ownership in Cadillac F1 (Formula One), Andretti Global (IndyCar), Spire Motorsports (NASCAR), Wayne Taylor Racing (IMSA) and Walkinshaw TWG Racing (Supercars). According to The Athletic, only Cadillac F1 is being shopped.

"At this stage, TWG Motorsport is not seeking out buyers for its other properties — NASCAR’s Spire Motorsports, IndyCar and Formula E’s Andretti Global, IMSA’s Wayne Taylor Racing and Supercars’ Walkinshaw Andretti United," The Athletic reported.

Cadillac F1 became F1's first new team in a decade this year. The team, which has a base in Fishers, is co-owned by TWG Motorsports and General Motors, Cadillac's parent company. When asked by IndyStar for comment Monday regarding Walter potentially selling his stake, General Motors declined to comment and TWG Motorsports did not respond.

The potential sale of Cadillac F1 after just one season comes with the backdrop that Walter's TWG Global company is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. The DOJ and SEC are looking into whether TWG Global, through subsidiaries Delaware Life and Clear Spring Life and Annuity, illegally disclosed affiliated assets.

Since the investigation became public in July, Walter has sold his majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers and his 13% share of the Premier League's Chelsea FC. Reports now believe that Cadillac F1 and the Los Angeles Sparks could be next. TWG Global denied any wrongdoing by its insurance companies in August.
