What Is the Patriots-Seahawks Halftime Show? Get to Know the Thursday Night Football Performer in Week 1
Coming off a historic year to win the second Super Bowl in franchise history, the mood is going to be celebratory for the Seattle Seahawks when they start a new NFL season against the same team they beat in Super Bowl 60.
The New England Patriots, on the other hand, will be trying to get their payback. But as the focus turns to the game, here is what fans can expect as part of the opening night festivities when the Halftime Show gets underway.
What Is the Halftime Show at Patriots-Seahawks?
Mike McCready, the lead guitarist for the iconic Pearl Jam, is going to be conducting the national anthem at the start of the game. But his duties extend beyond that, as he will be back in front of the Seattle faithful during the halftime show.
Alongside a Seattle special, Soundgarden, he will be teaming up for a spectacular performance. Describing himself as a huge fan of the band, McCready has performed with them on separate occasions as well.
The two bands have been close since the 1980s, and McCready was involved in their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They will be joined by Taylor Momsen, who has taken on the vocals role from time to time after Chris Cornell’s demise.

His passion for the group was shining through as he talked to the official Seahawks website and senior reporter John Boyle.

“I’m kind of like Soundgarden’s biggest fan,” McCready said, adding that when Soundgarden would rehearse in Seattle “I went down there and brought them pizzas just so I could hang out. I love those guys, I love all of them. So being asked to do this by (drummer) Matt (Cameron), I love playing with those guys, and Taylor kills it, she’s got a great voice. You’re going to see something cool at halftime.”

Patriots-Seahawks Preview
The Seahawks are returning 20 of their 22 starters for the game. The biggest change for them is going to be in the running game. Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Zach Charbonnet is ruled out for the game.
However, after some excellent drafts in recent years, the expectation has to be that their rookies from the 2026 class can pick up the slack from the outset.
On the other hand, the Patriots have done a lot of work to improve key areas of the roster, particularly on offense. The offensive line has seen some major additions, while they traded for A.J. Brown and signed Romeo Doubs as well.
But with TreVeyon Henderson likely out for the game, the focus is going to have to be on that passing game to carry the day for the Patriots.
