After a heated campaign for Ohio governor, Republican Vivek Ramaswamy put the campaign fight aside Tuesday as he conceded to Amy Acton and congratulated her on her win.
Ramaswamy acknowledged a difficult night for Republicans and urged his supporters to root for Acton and her administration. The two had frequently clashed during the campaign, which Ramaswamy acknowledged had become "bitter at times in both directions."
Here's more on what he said.
Ramaswamy 'rooting' for Acton, voices 'serious concerns' about country's future
Ramaswamy thanked the nearly 2 million Ohioans he said voted for his ticket, along with his campaign staff, volunteers, donors, law enforcement and family. But he also voiced concerns about the country's future.

"I would be incomplete if I didn't tell you that I have some serious concerns about the future direction of our country. There's no avoiding that," he told his supporters. "Sometimes these things happen for a reason. God has a plan, we're his instruments."
Ramaswamy also spoke on the incoming administration, saying he had called Acton and left a message congratulating her. "We're rooting for the success of this state," Ramaswamy said. "And that means that all of us in this room should be rooting for the success of her administration."
Ramaswamy hints at next chapter 'outside of public life'
Ramaswamy also hinted at what could come next, saying he wants to continue serving Ohioans even if that work happens outside elected office.
"Though our contributions may come beyond public life in other ways, we will remain committed to fighting for this country, to fighting for our kids and their generation, to fighting for our future in whatever way we're able," Ramaswamy said.
